Personal Injury and Wrongful Death are legal terms that encompass a variety of situations. Personal Injury (“Tort”) law allows for compensation when a person is injured or experiences destruction of property due to someone else’s carelessness, recklessness or intentional misconduct. A wrongful death claim is a lawsuit that arises from the death of an individual that was caused by the conduct of another.

Events covered by Personal Injury and Wrongful Death law include, but are not limited to:

  • Automobile accidents
  • Motorcycle accidents
  • Large truck cases
  • Slips and falls
  • Spine injury
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Nursing home neglect

In all Personal Injury or Wrongful Death matters, it is crucial that you contact us immediately so that we may work to preserve evidence, investigate the accident in question and file a lawsuit prior to the deadline imposed by the statute of limitations.

If you or a loved one is the victim of Personal Injury or Wrongful Death, contact us for a free initial consultation.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a program that provides income for the aged, blind or disabled. To receive SSI benefits, your income and resources must be limited. Social Security Disability (SSD) is a program that provides benefits for disabled workers who have held a job, or a series of jobs subject to the Social Security system for a required period of time (generally five out of the last 10 years). You must have paid FICA taxes to be eligible for SSD benefits.

If you are trying to obtain SSI or SSD benefits, you should know that most claims are denied at the initial level. Once you are denied, you can file a Request for Reconsideration, at which time it is particularly beneficial to have legal representation. At The Law Offices of Timothy Welborn, PA, we can prepare and file all necessary documents for you at each stage of the process. We’ll also gather medical information and other evidence, request additional examination, prepare you for the hearing, represent you during the hearing and ensure correct calculations of any awarded benefits. Our goal is to get a fair decision made as quickly as possible for you.
