Tim Welborn
I am a native of Wilkes County, North Carolina and attended Wake Forest University. Growing up, I attended West Wilkes High School. I spent much of my childhood working on farms, in factories and on construction sites to pay my way through college and law school. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in 1990 with a double major in political science and economics. I then attended Campbell University, where I received my law degree from the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law in 1994. I started my practice in 1994 and now serve clients throughout the triad, northwest North Carolina and the southeastern United States. I also proudly serve on the boards of Victory Junction and Wake Forest Deacon Club.

Sigsbee Miller
Associate Attorney
Sigsbee Miller has served as an Associate Attorney for The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2010. Graduating cum laude from Wake Forest University with his bachelor’s in 1980, Sigsbee went on to receive his J.D. from Wake Forest in 1983. Since then, he has built a well-rounded career in law, including two years with the N.C. Department of Corrections and 12 years with the N.C. Attorney General’s Office. His specialties include personal injury and workers’ compensation.
Sigsbee is a member of the N.C. Bar Association, N.C. Advocates for Justice, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, as well as the 34th District Bar. He is also a lifetime member of Who’s Who in American Law.

Jeffery Maggs
Associate Attorney
Jeffery Maggs has served as an Associate Attorney for The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2010. A graduate of Elon University Law School, Jeffery specializes in social security, personal injury, and workers’ compensation cases. During his free time, he is a supporter of the arts—participating in singing and acting community activities. He is also a speaker for multiple Continued Legal Education courses and is a member of the Forsyth County and N.C. State Bar Associations. Throughout his work at the firm, he aims to treat each client with respect and works hard to help them achieve the best possible outcome.

Pam Bonner
Paralegal & Office Administrator
Pam Bonner has been a Paralegal and Office Administrator for The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2008. Graduating from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2006, Pam specializes in Personal Injury cases, aiming to provide support and organization to the firm as well as their clients.

Nicole Aguirre
Legal Assistant
A Legal Assistant for the firm since 2020, Nicole Aguirre has over 15 years of experience in the legal field. She specializes in disability cases – primarily assisting in the appeals process for disability benefits cases by meeting with clients, collecting evidence, and filing appeals. Nicole is bi-lingual (English & Spanish), and is passionate about providing quality, substantive assistance to the legal team and the community they serve.

Jimmie Denton
Legal Assistant
Jimmie Denton is from Lewisville, North Carolina and has served as Legal Assistant for The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2005. While Jimmie wears many hats for the firm, her specialty is assisting with workers’ compensation cases.

Joyce Downs
LEGAL ASSISTANT
A graduate of Salem College, Joyce has a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. She has enjoyed working in different roles during the past 15 years with the firm. Currently, her primary role is as a Social Security Disability case manager. Joyce is fluent in Spanish, providing translation services for the firm.

Karen Hamby
Administrative Assistant
A native of nearby Wilkes County, Karen Hamby has served as Legal Assistant for The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2013. She specializes in working with social security disability cases. In her spare time, Karen enjoys church, hiking, camping, and spending time with her family.

Kimberly Johnson
LEGAL ASSISTANT
Kimberly Johnson has served as a Legal Assistant for the firm since 2005, specializing in Social Security Disability cases. A graduate of the University of Phoenix with a degree in Criminal Justice, Kimberly is also an authorized Notary Public. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Wingler
Legal Assistant
A graduate of Gardner Webb University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting, Jennifer has served as Legal Assistant for the firm since 2021. She specializes in working with social security disability cases. A native of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Jennifer is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and is married with two children.

Sheila Burns
Paralegal
Sheila Burns has served as a N.C. Certified Paralegal and Social Security Disability Case Manager at The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn since 2016, specializing in Social Security Disability at the firm. A native of Greensboro, N.C., Sheila is responsible for hearing preparation and helping clients navigate the hearing/decision process as well as any Appeals Council reviews. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family on their small farm.

Melanie Saramaha
Paralegal
Melanie Saramaha has served as a Paralegal for the firm since 2016. She is a graduate of the Medical Paralegal program at Winslam College, and her specialty areas include personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. Melanie is passionate about providing support and guidance for clients throughout the legal process and aims to be a reliable resource from beginning to end.
